The Bag Broker was founded in 2004 by Holger Nygaard, whose vision was to fill the gap by being the bridge between suppliers and coffee roasters and provide high quality flexible packaging solutions.
Where better to start than Melbourne, the coffee capital of the world? As rules were being broken and the trend for coffee was being set by Australia throughout the world, The Bag Broker was doing the same for the way it was packaged.
Coffee bags is the canvas to tell the story of the coffee, which influences customers considerably in their purchasing intention and helps brands to stand out on the shelf. Over the years, the Bag Broker has fulfilled its promise and done an amazing job. Besides high-quality stock bags, including kraft bags, box bottom bags, side gusset bags, the Bag Broker has extended its customizable bag offering on several levels as well and always seeking innovative approaches. Today, The Bag Broker provides bags all over the world and has greatly increased its presence in Australia, which is a crucial market for us.
The Bag Broker currently have sights set on achieving full recyclability and biodegradability. We are working with film manufacturers to develop a solution specifically to allow coffee bags to become recyclable and biodegradable. In the past few years we have already started selling a range of bags made from biodegradable materials. Furthermore, The Bag Broker are now in in the process of launching the second generation, which will be certified biodegradable in Australia and which is intended to be disposed of with food waste for composting.
