Recyclable Bags — Mono-Material LDPE, Built for Kerbside Recycling

We launched a mono-material recyclable bag globally in 2019 — one plastic, one stream, no laminate confusion. A single-polymer LDPE construction in a clean matte finish, with a good barrier for coffee and dry foods, designed for the level 4 PE recycling stream where mono-material collection is accepted. The construction is assessed under cyclos-HTP, backed by our APCO membership. Below: the full recyclable range, held in Melbourne and available from a single carton.

// The Range

Recyclable Coffee Packaging — The Full Range

Mono-material LDPE designed for easy recycling — no mixed laminates for recyclers to separate. Box bottom bags, stand up pouches and side gusset bags in a clean matte finish, with zip and one-way degassing valve options across the range.

// Why Mono-Material

One Plastic. One Stream. Actually Recyclable.

Most "plastic" coffee bags are laminates of mixed materials that recyclers can't separate. Ours aren't.

Single-polymer PE

The whole bag is one plastic family — polyethylene — so it can be processed in the level 4 PE recycling stream where mono-material collection is accepted, instead of heading to landfill like mixed laminates.

Barrier without compromise

A good barrier suitable for coffee and dry foods, in a clean matte finish, with zip and one-way degassing valve options across the range. Ideal for products that sell within a few months.

Independently assessed

The recyclable construction is assessed under cyclos-HTP, and we're an APCO member — so the claim on your bag is backed by independent assessment, not marketing.

Recyclable Bag FAQs

They're designed for it. The bags are mono-material PE, so they can be processed in the level 4 PE stream where local collection accepts mono-material flexible plastics. Acceptance varies by council, so check your region's streams — unlike mixed laminates, these bags are recyclable wherever that stream exists.

A conventional coffee bag laminates different plastics (and sometimes aluminium) together — layers recyclers can't separate. A mono-material bag builds every layer from one polymer family, in our case polyethylene, so the whole bag can be recycled as a single plastic.

Recyclable PE offers a good barrier — below high-barrier foil, but comfortably enough for coffee and dry foods that sell within a few months. One-way degassing valve and zip options are available across the range for freshly roasted coffee.

Yes — the recyclable construction is assessed by cyclos-HTP, an independent institute that certifies the recyclability of packaging, and we're an APCO member. The claims on your packaging stand up to scrutiny.

You can order from a single carton online. In-stock bags are dispatched next working day from our Melbourne warehouse (order before noon). Custom printed recyclable packaging starts from 2,000 units per design with a lead time of around 11–12 weeks.
